Nestle Japan, a part of Nestle S.A announced that it has acquired the tube feeding business of the Ajinomoto Co. Inc. at an undisclosed amount. The company Nestle also took the rights to distribute the oral nutritional supplements range of Ajinimoto across the medical and nursing care facilities in Japan. Ajinomoto aims to outstretch its business through focusing towards the specializing the medical and nursing care foods.  

The growing count of the aged population across the globe with increasing efforts to cut down the cost of social security and to boost the concept of self medication. With this, the Nutrition therapy is gaining higher demand in order to maximize the treatment effect at medical institution. Also, importance of nutrition management of the aged population at their residence is also gaining boom these days. 

Ajinomoto Co. had planned to dissolve Ajinomoto Nutrition Foods Co., Ltd. as a wholly owned subsidiary, by November 2016.

Nestle Japan was established in the year 1933 and operates through approx. 2500 emoloyees. Ajinomoto nutrition food is the Tokyo based company, established in the year 2008. Ajinomoto Group launched its first diets fir protein energy malnutrition through medical channel, which is trialed by the MEDIF and MEDIF PUSH CARE 2.5, a product range dedicated towards nutrition management support.
