Givaudan, a leading player in flavours and fragrances market, made it clear to acquire Nutrition Division of Centroflora Group, as part of its 2020 policy to reinforce its worldwide contribution of natural extracts and further advance its presence in Brazil.
Centroflora’s Nutrition Division (Centroflora Nutra) produces botanical extracts and dehydrated fruits for the food, beverage and consumer goods sectors. It provides a numerous range of plant extracts from several regions of the world, with a specific focus on those from the great biodiversity of Brazil. Headquartered in Botucatu, Brazil, Centroflora Nutra employs has about 116 people working together and exports products globally.
Although the terms of the deal were kept unclosed, it is estimated that Centroflora Nutra’s business contributed around USD 17 million of additional sales to Givaudan’s business in 2017 on a proforma basis. The transaction for acquiring Centroflora Nutra was funded by Givaudan’s existing resources.
